Answer:
When God created man, He gave him all authority and dominion over the face of
the earth; Over the birds of the air, fish of the sea and everything that
creapeth upon the face of the earth. There was no sickness or disease upon the
face of the earth at that time. There was no sin. Everything was pure, holy and
righteous. The Bible says that God would come down to the garden, and walk and
talk with Adam in the cool of the evenings. God loved His precious man.
When Adam sinned in the garden, all authority and dominion was handed over to
the enemy. No longer could God have relationship with man. God is pure and holy
and He cannot look upon sin. God put a curse on the earth and on Satan at that
time. God never put a curse on man, but because of man's fall, he suffered the
effects of the curse because Satan became his master. That is when sickness and
disease entered the earth. It was a result of the fall. It was a result of sin.
God loved His precious man so much that He sent His only son, Jesus to become
the ransom for our sins. He came upon this earth in the form of a man. He never
sinned, and He was perfect in every way. He left all of His authority and power
in heaven and became a human, so He could qualify as the sacrificial Lamb of God
that was to take away the sins of the world. Man had given authority to Satan,
and only man could qualify to win it back. The Bible says, Jesus was wounded for
our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our
peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus loved
us so much that He was willing to take upon Himself the sins of the whole world,
so we could be restored to right standing with the Father.
When we ask Jesus into out hearts, we become new creations in Christ. No longer
does the enemy have the authority to put us under his curse. No longer is Satan
our master. Jesus becomes our master. We become servants of the Most High God,
and His only desire is to see us free. The Bible says we are under grace. We are
blessed and highly favored of the Lord. We are the righteousness of God in
Christ. Old things are passed away, and behold all thing are become new. We
become the redeemed of the Lord.
The Bible says that God anointed Jesus, who went about doing good and healing
all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Acts 10:38). God
loves us with an everlasting love, and He will never leave us nor forsake us. He
said that He would that we would prosper and be in health even as His soul
prospers (3 John 2). Jesus has given us the authority to lay hands on the sick
and they shall recover. We have power to heal all kinds of sickness and all
kinds of disease (Matt. 10:1). He took our infirmities and bore our sickness
upon His own body (Matt. 8:17). In Exodus 23:25, God says He will take sickness
away from the midst of you.
For God to cause us to get sick and then turn around and heal us, would be for
Him to be fighting against His own self. It would totally go against His nature.
Jesus said that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. Sometimes we do
get sick, but God does not cause it. In John 10:10, the Bible says, the enemy
comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. Jesus came that we might have life,
and that we might have it more abundantly. I John 3:8 says, For this purpose the
Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
It is the enemy that comes to make us sick. He is so jealous of man that he does
everything he can to harm us. He cannot have our spirit because we have given it
to Jesus, so he tries to trip us up and make us as miserable as he can. He knows
that God has a destiny for us. He is terrified we will rise up and walk in our
destiny, so he tries to keep us beat down with sickness and disease. We were all
created to worship the creator of the universe. We are all destined to walk in
the power and authority that God originally intended for man before Adam gave it
away. We are to take dominion over the earth, and rule and reign in Jesus name
every day of our lives.
The Father loves us with an everlasting love and He will never leave us nor
forsake us. He has made it possible for us to rise up and put the enemy under
our feet. He has given us the authority and the power that we need to walk in
victory. It is written, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us
(Philippians 4:13). No weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17a).
Greater is He who is in us than he who is in this world (I John 4:4). We are
more than conquerors through Him that loved us (Romans 8:37). Jesus took our
infirmities and bore our sickness (Matt. 8:17).
Would God cause you to get sick so He could teach you a lesson? Absolutely not.
Exodus 23:25 says, So you shall serve the Lord, and He will bless your bread and
your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. God is good and
full of mercy. His mercies are new every morning. He would never cause you to be
sick. The Bible says in Romans 2:4b, The goodness of God leadeth thee to
repentance. It is written that every good thing comes from above. Sickness is
from the enemy. It is not from the Father. If we trust Him, He will take what is
meant for bad, and turn it around and make good come from it. Psa 33:5b says,
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. We know that all things work
together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to
His purpose (Romans 8:28).
