Details about, Very Important Information about this course:
Why? Because this course is designed to BUILD one lesson upon another. So, if you go straight to lesson 3 or 7 or whatever, without having worked the previous and intervening lessons, you will NOT really get the full impact or even the CORRECT teaching and interpretation of what you are studying.
So, PLEASE, work all the lessons in sequence and do NOT skip ahead or skip around in this course, as tempting as that might seem to you right now. Also, believe it or not, this course, although it may look long, is really SHORT and much much more could have been done in each lesson. But, since our goal is that you be able to get the Big Picture of the Book of Revelation as well as understand more than you ever have before about this awesome book, this course has been deliberately and specifically written to be brief and to be worked consecutively from the start to finish without skipping around. This course can be worked either individually or with a group. If you are working this course as an individual, YES, you CAN do the lessons at your own speed and, yes, you can do more than one lesson at a time. That will not interfere with the design' of this course in any way. So, if you are doing this course by yourself, feel free to continue on from one lesson to the next until you come to a stopping point of your choosing. But PLEASE do NOT jump ahead or skip around, just keep working straight through! If you are doing this with a group, then it would be better if you do only one lesson at a time, at weekly intervals. Each member of the group should have a copy of this course and do their own study assignments individually. Then, after everyone has completed their own homework assignments individually, the entire group should meet together for about an hour, more or less, with a leader, who is also doing the course, and discuss, as a group, what has been studied in that week's lesson. Also, if you are doing this study as a group, in Sunday School or a Home Bible Study or whatever, the discussion time should NOT be a lecture by the discussion leader but rather, actually be a real discussion by the group about what they have learned during the preceding week. The purpose of having a discussion leader is to help keep the group on track so that the group will not go off into other areas or topics which have not yet been studied. It is always best to wait until you have studied a subject in the appropriate lesson before discussing it in class. A premature discussion of something which you have not yet studied usually leads to incorrect interpretations of what the Book of Revelation (or any other Book of the Bible) is teaching. Surely the Book of Revelation is difficult enough to understand when studied in context. So, do yourself a favor and do not jump to conclusions, or discuss something before you have studied it, or discuss anything in the light of a 'preconceived' opinion. Let the text speak for itself. If you do that, you will be surprised, amazed, and awed, at what you will REALLY see in this awesome prophecy. So, with these suggestions in mind..... Let’s begin.>> Revelation Lesson 1 |
