BINDING & LOOSING
(Keys of the Kingdom)
Matt. 16:19; 18:18
In Webster’s dictionary the word “bind”
means to “wrap around, hold together or
become one with (partake).” The word
“loose”, means “to dissolve, shatter, smash,
destroy or break free.”
How can you stop the assignment of Satan? By
binding him and taking away his weapon. The
Old Testament reveals that Israel spoiled
their enemies’ goods. To spoil means “to
plunder” or to take the property of another
by force, to strip a person of their power
and possessions:
“…how can one enter a strong man’s house and
plunder his goods, unless he first
binds the strong man? Then indeed he may
plunder his house” (Matthew 12:29).
“I will give you the keys to the kingdom of
heaven and whatever you bind on earth
Shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you
loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16:19
The proper translation of the Greek sentence
is “Whatever you bind (loose) on earth is
that which is already in A STATE OF HAVING
BEEN BOUND (loosed) in the Heavenlies.”
IMPLICATION: God’s will and desires are
ALREADY SETTLED IN HEAVEN forever (Ps.
119:89), but Jesus gave us the keys of the
Kingdom of Heaven so that their
MANIFESTATION on this earth is CONTINGENT
upon OUR binding and loosing -- IN AGREEMENT
with His Will (expressed in the Word of
God).
EXAMPLES FOR BINDING:
In the Name of Jesus:
I bind my mind to THE MIND OF CHRIST. I bind
my will & desire to GOD’S WILL & PURPOSE for
my life.
I bind myself to the TRUTH OF GOD and LOVE
OF GOD.
I bind my finances to GOD’S UNLIMITED
RESOURCES.
I bind my future to GOD’S INFINITE WISDOM
and ORCHESTRATION for my life.
I bind my body (& all parts) to the
RESURRECTION LIFE of Jesus.
I bind my body (& all parts) to the BLOOD OF
JESUS.
Lord Jesus, (read Song of Solomon 8:6) I
bind my finances to YOUR UNLIMITED
RESOURCES.
Also speak to the Father:
Father, I bind my heart to YOUR HEART.
Pray for others and loved ones.
EXAMPLES FOR LOOSING:
In the Name of Jesus,
I loose and break off from my life (also use
others’ names), any devices of the enemy to
hinder, deceive, steal, kill & destroy.
I loose the POWER & EFFECTS of any damaging
WORDS spoken ABOUT ME, TO ME, or BY ME. I
loose and break off from my life EVERY WRONG
AGREEMENT I’ve ever entered into (with
persons, spirits or ideas).
I loose and break off from me – EVERY WRONG
BELIEF that I’ve ever had (about God & His
will; about me and others). I loose and
break off any BONDAGE HIDDEN within my soul.
(The above can be MORE SPECIFIC – e.g.,
alcoholism, bad habits, anger, fear,
physical illness, legal battle, etc.)
* Speak the above scriptures LOUDLY and
OFTEN. As you do, sense knowledge must GIVE
WAY (surrender) and CONFORM TO THE TRUTH.
The Truth will set you free.
NOTE:
In praying for OTHERS insert their names as
you pray. Instead of imposing our will &
desires upon others, we allow GOD’S
INTERVENTION in a given situation, according
to HIS WISDOM AND PERFECT WILL for each
person.
BINDING & LOOSING PRAYER
In the Name of Jesus Christ,
I bind (my/_________’s) body, soul and
spirit to the will and purposes of God for
(my/his/her) life.
I bind (my/ ___________’s) mind, will and
emotions to the will of God. I bind
(myself/him/her) to the Truth and to the
Blood of Jesus. I bind (my/him/her) mind to
the mind of Christ, that the very thoughts,
feelings and purposes of His heart would be
within (my/(his/her) thoughts.
I bind (my/ ___________’s) mind, will and
emotions to the mind of Christ, that the
very thoughts, feelings and purposes of His
heart would be within (my/his/her) thoughts.
I bind (my/__________’s) feet to the paths
of righteousness that (my/ his/her) steps
would be steady and sure. I bind
(myself/him/her) to the work of the cross
with all of its mercy, grace, love,
forgiveness and dying of self.
I loose every old belief, motivation, habit
and behavior from (me/him/her). I tear down,
crush, smash and destroy every stronghold
associated with these things. I loose any
stronghold in (my/ his/her) life that has
been justifying and protecting harmful
feelings against anyone. I loose the
strongholds of unforgiveness, fear and
distrust from (me/him/her).
I loose the power and effects of deceptions
and lies from (me/him/her). I loose the
confusion and blindness of the god of this
world from (my/__________’s) mind that has
kept (me/him/her) from seeing the light of
the gospel of Jesus Christ. I call forth
every precious word of scripture that has
every entered into (my/his/her) mind and
heart that it would rise up in power within
(me/him/her).
In the Name of Jesus, I loose the power and
effects of any harsh or hard words (word
curses) spoken to, about or by
me/___________. I loose all generational
bondages from (me/ him/her) that may have
been caused by mistakes I made.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I crush, smash
and destroy general bondages of any kind
from mistakes made at any point between
generations. I destroy them right here,
right now. They will not bind and curse any
more members of this family.
I bind the strong man, Satan, that I may
spoil his house, taking back every material
and spiritual possession he has wrongfully
taken from me/___________. I loose the
enemies’ influence over every part of
(my/his/her) body, soul and spirit. I loose,
crush, smash and destroy every evil device
he may try to bring into (my/his/her) sphere
of influence during this day.
I bind and loose these things in Jesus’
name. He has given me the keys and the
authority to do so.
